STRIPESTEP SOCKS
This pattern is the January sock in my Westknits Year of Socks 2025 e-book. You will receive a PDF update with this pattern at the beginning of January when you sign up for Westknits Year of Socks 2025. Then, you will receive a new sock pattern update at the beginning of each month until all 12 socks are released by December 2025.

THE PATTERN
These top-down socks feature a fun modular construction. Begin with 2x2 ribbing for the Cuff, then knit a garter stitch rectangle flat for the front leg and top foot.
The back leg is then knitted in stockinette stitch with thin stripes, resulting in a staggered geometric striping pattern on the leg. The heel flap is knitted in garter stitch followed by the gusset and sole. The striped sections are knitted together for a seamless modular construction.
Combine one solid skein of sock yarn with a self-striping main color like Schoppel Wolle Zauberball Crazy to create these stripe-tastic color changing socks!
