NDSM field trip

by stephen on February 24, 2013

Two of my favorite knitters, Ragga & StevenBe, are visiting me in Amsterdam. It’s inspirational to have these creative fiber fanatics with me at the same time!

Today, we took a tram and ferry ride to the north of Amsterdam to NDSM-werf. It’s a super cool area that used to be a shipyard. Now it’s full of beautiful old buildings and tons of graffiti. The main giant warehouse now houses dozens of artist’s studios and a skatepark. Here are some photos I snapped from today’s adventure.

Huge globe made from plastic bottles.

There were amazing textures and colors everywhere. We hung out at the Noorderlicht Cafe for some snacks and knitting. Can you guess whose knitting belongs to who?

This disco ball was hanging above our heads as we knit. I’ll definitely be going back several times to photograph more color combos and knitting projects.

If I were to guess who owned what knitting,I would have to say–

slubby blue/purple grandson:StephenBe

pale blue/mustard/olive ribbing:you,Mr. West

purple/lime/black purl ridges:Ragga

I know,you only get 3 guesses,and the first 2 don’t count…(love the disco ball!)
